Kids 2 Care Club
New this school year we created a service learning class designed to give students a stronger connection to our community. This past session they made decorations, ornaments, and decorated holiday cards to be delivered to a local nursing home.
Sharing Closet
Holiday Clothing Drive Beginning this month we will be starting our annual “Sharing Closet.” All donations are welcome including but not limited to long sleeve shirts, sweaters, shoes, boots, pants, and outerwear of all sizes. Our sharing closet will be open to all families and is located in the staff lounge. We ask that any donations be washed prior to drop off. All donations can be added to the Sharing Closet bin next to the clothes rack. As parents and caregivers we know how expensive our children’s clothing can be especially during this time of year. We hope that each family will take advantage of this opportunity by donating, taking, and or swapping clothes.
Helping Local Animals
In our Kids 2 Care Club we have been working on a project to help local animals. As a group we worked together to develop ideas to help the animals in our community. We have decided to bake cat and dog treats as well as research and make toys. Our club is planning on giving these items to the Westerly Animal Shelter at the end of October. Below are pictures of my friends and I shredding material and gathering bells for the toys.
